About
About Me
I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2018 with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. While there, I was part of the Club Swim Team and won a national team championship in 2015 as well as an individual national championship in the 200 yard butterfly in 2016. In my free time I enjoy playing video games, watching anime, swimming, and skiing.
Starting Data Science at GA
After graduating from CU Boulder, I had realized that I had lost a lot of the initial interest I had in electrical engineering. This prompted me to begin writing software as it’s something I quite liked doing while I was at CU Boulder. I started writing a program to enhance the playing experience for myself and others in Pokemon Go as the native app lacks features to find desirable Pokemon. While I enjoyed developing this program, I eventually realized that I missed the mathematical challenges that were associated with electrical engineering. This led me to look into data science, where I could combine my desire for programming and mathematics.
While looking for how I could get started in data science, I came across General Assembly’s Data Science Immersive Program. With the pandemic keeping me at home, I decided this was a good time to apply to the program and start studying data. Being able to improve people’s lives using data really excites me and I am glad to be starting this journey of data science. I hope that by going through the program I will be able to gain the expertise necessary to analyze data effectively and start improving the lives of others using my programming and mathematical skills.
